LABOUR MPs REACT

Fierce recriminations and infighting have erupted in the Labour party overnight.  There's been lots of finger pointing with various figures saying the party wasn't 'Remain' enough, while others saying the party was too 'Remain' and should oppose a second referendum.  Corbyn himself appeared to suggest a shift towards the second referendum, but this will cause massive problems with some MPs in the northern Brexit heartlands.  Labour have mocked the Tories for years about their EU divide, but now the boot is clearly on the other foot.

Very disappointing result in Rotherham, it would be ridiculous if the view we took from this election was that Labour should become more pro-remain.

Those “important people” who said Wakefield is now for Remain need to show some humility. They were wrong.

Tonight the Brexit Party wasn’t supported by around two-thirds of voters and No Deal was rejected. The country remains divided. The only way to resolve this is to go back to the British people in a confirmatory referendum. Labour must now back this policy clearly.

Early days but #EuroElections2019 seeem to show far from appealing to both Leave & Remain voters we appealed to neither. As Nye Bevan said “We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run down.”
