COUNCIL BY-ELECTIONS 03.10.19

Six council by-elections last night - two in the home counties and one each in Somerset, Leicestershire, Aberdeen and Cardiff.  Two seats were up for grabs in Aberdeen with both the Tories and SNP defending a seat each.  The SNP would have looked to take both seats, but the Tories enjoyed a vote surge that took them into first place (based on first preference votes).  Consequently, both parties retained their seats.
