COUNCIL BY-ELECTIONS 31.10.19

Just the one last night and another truly awful result for Labour.  In almost three months the party has managed to increase its vote share in just one by-election.  With a general election on the way, last night's result in Worcestershire was particularly dreadful.  The party not only lost the seat it was defending, it slumped to last place.

Rather unusually there were a couple of council by-elections held earlier this week.  On Tuesday the Lib Dems were defending in Warwick and on Wednesday the Tories were defending in Maidenhead.  Both held, both increased their vote and, yes, you guessed it - Labour's vote shrunk.
