The first Labour leadership hustings has taken place in Liverpool and the party kindly streamed both debates live on YouTube. Jess Phillips was the big loser in the main event, appearing to have turned up completely unprepared and delivering a cringeworthy performance. She "couldn't hack the spotlight" was how one viewer put it, while another said she was in a "zone beyond hopeless". Nerves certainly got the better of her.
There was no clear winner, although most commentators agreed that Long-Bailey and (surprisingly) Lady Nugee stood out from the rest. After a strong start to her campaign it was a rather average showing from Nandy and Sir Keir was his usual wooden self. Watch below - if you can stomach it.
