The supposed 'revelation' that gangs of Muslim men were allowed to roam the streets of Manchester grooming young English girls for sex was no surprise to anyone. We've been here before, countless times. The so-called 'assurance review' sanctioned by Andy Burnham, Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester, was nothing but the usual whitewash. Burnham spoke twice at the press conference yesterday, but in neither his opening or closing remarks did he address the issue of Muslim grooming gangs. He never even uttered those words, not once, individually or collectively. He didn't even use the generic term which the media prefer to use to describe the culprits - 'Asian'. The cultural aspect of the scandal was once again brushed under the carpet. As expected.
