LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS COMPARED


One of the headline facts about the Labour leadership result is that Keir Starmer received more votes than Jeremy Corbyn did when he was elected in 2015.  Both men received over 50 per cent of first preference votes meaning they were elected in the first round.  However, Corbyn's 2015 victory is still the most impressive because he was up against more candidates and received a greater share of the vote.  This is how the last three Labour leadership elections stack up...
