Leave campaigner Darren Grimes has revealed that the Metropolitan Police have dropped their investigation into him following a four-year campaign by the Electoral Commission and Remainers to get him convicted. Grimes and fellow Leave activist Alan Halsall were alleged to have broken the rules on spending during the referendum, but the Met have now dropped the case following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. Grimes successfully appealed and overturned a £20,000 fine from the Electoral Commission last year. This morning he released a video message to thank his supporters and poke fun at his detractors, notably the Observer columnist Carole Cadwalladr.
The bitterness of the Remain establishment looks set to continue for many years. Let's not forget that for all their lies about Leave spending, they had a pro-Remain government leaflet delivered to every home that cost £9 million and never showed up on any campaign expenditure anywhere.
Crazy Carole, Davey Cameron and co had everything going for them - and still lost.
