CORBYN'S WEEKEND GETAWAY

Jeremy Corbyn fled to the Isle of Wight following his suspension from Labour and spent the weekend in the seaside town of Shanklin.  He and his wife reportedly arrived on Friday, the day after his suspension.  Despite the island being a Tory stronghold, Corbyn wasn't short of admirers and posed for photos with several locals.

As per usual the Great Leader didn't practice social distancing, but he didn't break any rules by travelling from tier 2 London.  Presumably he left the organising of his fightback campaign in the hands of John McDonnell while he was away.  McDonnell took part in an online Momentum 'rally' on Friday night, joined by fellow Corbyn loyalists Richard Burgon and Diane Abbott.

Others have been plugging a crowdfunding effort in support of Corbyn, but the impressive figures aren't all that they seem.  The page was not set up in recent days with the intention of fighting his suspension, but was actually set up in July to contest a libel action against him.

Bearing in mind that Corbyn has a reported net worth of £3 million, surely he can afford to fight his own battles?
