CARDIFF MP STRUCK DOWN BY COVID

Labour frontbencher Jo Stevens was admitted to hospital over the weekend suffering from coronavirus.  Her staff issued a statement via social media on Saturday night confirming the news, two days after posting that she had been 'laid low with Covid for a while'.  No further details have been released since, so it's not clear how this ultra lockdown enthusiast came to catch the virus.  Was she not practising as she so regularly preaches?

In any case, at the age of 54 and with no apparent underlying health conditions, the odds are stacked overwhelmingly in her favour to make a full recovery.  She is the third Labour MP to have been hospitalised by the virus during the course of the pandemic.  Tony Lloyd (Rochdale) and Yasmin Qureshi (Bolton South East) both made full recoveries.
