In a further example of the moral decay of Western society, library staff in a London borough thought it was appropriate for an individual to wave a dildo in front of children at a library event. Last weekend a library in Redbridge hosted a group of performers to promote literacy, one of whom was dressed as a rainbow-coloured monkey with prosphetic nipples and buttocks, plus a dildo attached to its groin. Needless to say, Redbridge Council is Labour-run.
The incident predictably led to outrage and apologies, but that was not the immediate reaction from council staff, one of whom declared on Facebook: "If you've got it, flaunt it". A video was also released, showing the group emerging from the library with swinging dildo on full display. The attached message says that the performers would be coming to more libraries in the area. This runs contrary to a claim put out late on Saturday night that 'upon receiving complaints we ceased the performance'.
The Labour leader of Redbrdge Council also came under fire for his response to the incident. Replying to a tweet from Conservative activist Has Ahmed on Saturday evening he said he would 'not take lectures from a Johnny come lately'. The deputy leader of the Tory group on the London Assembly condemned his 'unnecessary rudeness'.
This is not the first time inappropriate library events in London have been exposed. Last year Labour controlled councils in Newham and Lambeth hosted transvestite 'drag queens' to read to toddlers under the age of five.
This is the left. It's why we resist.
