GALLOWAY'S PENALTY POLL

George Galloway has posed a somewhat surprising question in the wake of David Amess's brutal murder.  The former Labour MP posted a Twitter poll on Sunday evening, asking if the death penalty should be brought back.  He only gave the poll an airing of one hour, so the response wasn't huge, but with 2,744 votes it was still a bigger sample size than the average YouGov poll.  Furthermore, the outcome raised more than a few eyebrows...

The result certainly didn't reflect the angry comments found on his tweet, the majority of which poured scorn on the suggestion.  If it was a binding referendum would they respect the result?  Or would they campaign for another vote, perhaps suggesting that voters were ill-informed or poorly educated?

Galloway conducted his poll ahead of his Russia Today show - the Mother of All Talk Shows aka #MOATS.
