Ten seats were up for grabs on Thursday, with two of those in the Village ward of Barking and Dagenham. Only one of the ten seats changed hands - a Lib Dem gain from Labour in Sheffield, where Labour were pushed into third by an astonishing first time effort from Reform UK. Reform were only ten votes behind the victorious Lib Dems.
Labour's vote share was down in all the seats contested, asides from a very marginal increase in Fife. They held seven of the eight seats they were defending, but on the current trajectory they are heading for an electoral spanking in the next local elections.
